10 Charities that makes a difference in the lives of millions around the world!

red cross

10 Charitable organizations that always need more assistance, and you could help.

With the possibility of taxes going up on January 1st , and the season of giving upon us very soon why not save some money on your tax bill, and help a cause while you are at it. The federal government allows you to write off your charitable donations when you file your taxes, so if you don’t like to pay the federal government a hefty amount of money why not gives a good portion of that cash to an organization that fights for one or many of the causes you believe in? Provided below is a list charitable organizations , that are reputable ,and are always looking for more help.

1. American Red Cross

Since its founding in 1881 by visionary leader Clara Barton, the American Red Cross has been the nation’s premier emergency response organization. As part of a worldwide movement that offers neutral humanitarian care to the victims of war, the American Red Cross distinguishes itself by also aiding victims of devastating natural disasters. Over the years, the organization has expanded its services, always with the aim of preventing and relieving suffering. Today, in addition to domestic disaster relief, the American Red Cross offers compassionate services in five other areas: community services that help the needy; support and comfort for military members and their families; the collection, processing and distribution of lifesaving blood and blood products; educational programs that promote health and safety; and international relief and development programs.

2. Fisher house Foundation

The Fisher House Foundation program is a unique private-public partnership that supports America’s military in their time of need. The program recognizes the special sacrifices of our men and women in uniform and the hardships of military service by meeting a humanitarian need beyond that normally provided by the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs. There is at least one Fisher House at every major military medical center to assist families in need and to ensure that they are provided with the comforts of home in a supportive environment. Annually, the Fisher House program serves more than 10,000 families, and have made available nearly 2.5 million days of lodging to family members since the program originated in 1990.

Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982, that promise became Susan G. Komen for the Cure and launched the global breast cancer movement. Today, Komen for the Cure is the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Thanks to events like the Komen Race for the Cure, we have invested more than $1.2 billion to fulfill our promise, becoming the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world.

4. Wounded Warrior Foundation

The mission of Wounded Warrior Project is to honor and empower wounded warriors. Our purpose is: to raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of severely injured service men and women; to help severely injured service members aid and assist each other; and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of severely injured service members.

5. International Children’s Fund

The International Children’s Fund (ICF) has come to the aid of needy children worldwide since 1987. We have helped distribute life-saving food, clothing, and medicine across the African continent. We have also supported the construction of orphanages, churches, schools and vocational training centers, drilled water wells to provide safe drinking water, and established agricultural projects. Practical, direct grassroots action is the main focus of ICF. We channel the Christian concern of Americans into street level impact in African villages, where logistics often frustrate traditional relief efforts. The secret ingredient is a trustworthy network of local, native missionary partners, who personally shepherd gifts of food, clothing, medicine, equipment and funds to the places children need them most.

6. Habitat for Humanity

Founded in 1976, Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is an ecumenical Christian housing ministry. HFHI seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat invites people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need. Habitat has built more than 300,000 houses around the world, providing more than 1.5 million people in more than 3,000 communities with safe, decent, affordable shelter. Habitat is founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, decent, affordable place to live in dignity and safety.

7. Medshare International

Founded in 1998, MedShare International’s mission is to bridge the gap between surplus and need to improve health care and the environment through the efficient recovery and redistribution of surplus medical supplies and equipment to those most in need. MedShare collects surplus medical supplies and used equipment from U.S. hospitals, manufacturers and distributors. We process these donated materials and make them available to underserved hospitals and clinics in two ways: direct shipments to international applicant institutions and supplying medical mission teams with commonly needed medical items.

8. Christ For Humanity

Christ For Humanity

Founded in 1992, Christ for Humanity (CFH) is a humanitarian aid and short-term mission sending organization serving the needs of the disadvantaged in the United States and abroad. CFH receives donations of food, clothing, and medical supplies from business and medical communities, churches, and caring individuals. CFH distributes these supplies at no cost to missionaries, healthcare workers, or other ministries working in almost 40 countries worldwide to enhance their outreach to the poor. CFH also sponsors several short-term missions around the world utilizing humanitarian aid and evangelism.

Stoopid Success Principle #6

Investing

Today’s Stoopid Success Principle is to Invest in yourself!

Investing in yourself comes in many different ways dependant on the field you are developing yourself in. You may have to take a course or series of courses from someone who has experience EXTREME success in the field you work in. The most basic form of investing in yourself is acquiring knowledge. This may come in the form of buying books or literature on the topic of interest (as in my case), or surfing the internet for credible information. Investing in yourself is the only way you will truly be able to achieve your dreams. The truth of the reality we all live in is that we are constantly presented with opportunities on a daily basis, and it is only a matter of action that determines if we capitalize on the opportunities presented. Investing in yourself often comes with sacrifice, but it is the delayed gratification that allows for the SWEET feeling we all get when we finally achieve our goals and dreams. Invest In yourself and you will grow beyond measure.

Saving you way to Financial Success

saving money

As highlighted in our stoopid success principle#5 saving is the key to financial success, and here we are going to present to you a few ways to save your way to success. Saving is not as complicated as many people may present it to be.
1. Save your unspent $1 bills and loose change from the day.
This is as simple as putting the loose change and your $1 dollar bills from your course of the day into a separate container or jar, and at the end of the month taking them to the bank to be deposited into a savings account. You will be surprised to find how fast your account balance grows by applying this method.

2. Save 15% of your income and pay yourself first
Paying yourself first is often a phrase that many financial planners use to describe the action of separating the first 15% of your paycheck to be put in a savings account. This will come to be handy in tough times as you will have a significant amount of cash to fall back on in the event that tough times hit. You will also like the feeling you receive when you look at your account balance at the end of the year, and see that you actually have in your possession 15% of your net income available if need to use it arrives.

3. Cut the fat from your budget
Often times it is not a matter of increasing income to save more money, but a matter of using the income you already take-home. This is best done by looking over your spending from the past month and your family budget and seeing where you can cut things out. Maybe you can save money by downgrading you cable television package or save money by eating in more than you eat out. There are many ways to save money and cut back on the lifestyle that you are living.

In the end it proves that saving isn’t as hard as it is sometimes portrayed. Saving is the key to your financial future!!!

How I used Black Friday to invest in myself!

problogger 2

As The biggest shopping season of the year is getting into full gear, instead of going out to spend money I don’t have on stuff I probably won’t use, I used the savings presented to make a serious investment in myself. While many are out ruining their financial lives(which can be avoided- check it out here), I decided to make an investment into one of the vehicles I am using to build my future. One of my only 2 purchases today was the book “ProBlogger,Secrets for Blogging Your Way to a Six-Figure Income” by mega-bloggers Darren Rowse and Chris Garrett. I stumbled upon the book while at the local Boarder’s bookstore in the mall I visited,(due to unforeseeable circumstances).

I have all but finished the book tonight, and am already making changes to better my blog. I am currently revamping the different sections of the blog. The About page and Comment/contact page will be re-done within the next day. I have cleaned up the site’s ads. I got great tips on content, so now I will be better able to serve you the Stoopidsuccess community. Reading the book was almost like having the “Dynamic Duo” as they may be referred to, in my ear giving my tips right here in my home. The book is an easy read, and is literally a GOLDMINE! full of info that any blogger experienced or inexperienced may use to become a ProBlogger. This was my surprise purchase and will probably be my investment of the year, and I thought I should share with you all!
